Data stored on your Mac

Clip Status saves your preferences locally using macOS UserDefaults: which services you monitor, their enabled/muted state, notification and webhook settings, refresh interval, appearance preference, and a cached copy of the remote service catalog.

This data stays on your device (and, for the widget, in an App Group container shared only between the app and its own widget extension). We do not operate servers that receive your personal settings.

Network requests the app makes

Status checks: Clip Status polls the public status page of each service you choose to monitor, on the interval you configure, to read its current status.

Service catalog: the list of services available to monitor is fetched from clipstatus.com/app/remote-catalog.json, so new services can appear without an app update. This is a static file download — no personal data is sent with the request.

Service icons: to show a service's logo, Clip Status requests a favicon from that service's own domain, or from Google's or DuckDuckGo's public favicon services as a fallback. These requests include the domain name of the service being looked up, but nothing that identifies you personally.

Webhooks (optional): if you add a webhook URL, Clip Status sends status-change events only to that destination. We never see or receive this data ourselves.

Notifications

If you allow macOS notifications, Clip Status uses Apple's UserNotifications framework to alert you about service status changes. Notification content is generated entirely on your Mac.

Diagnostics

Clip Status uses Apple's MetricKit to receive crash, hang, and performance reports. This only happens if you've opted in to “Share With App Developers” in macOS System Settings, and reports go through Apple (App Store Connect) — Clip Status does not run its own crash-reporting or analytics service, and this data never reaches Clipmind directly.

Feedback

The Feedback field in Settings → General opens a pre-filled email in your own Mail app, addressed to us. Nothing is sent until you choose to hit Send from your mail client — we only receive what you decide to write.

What we don't do

Clip Status doesn't require an account, doesn't run analytics or tracking SDKs inside the app, doesn't sell or share your data, and doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
